

HISTORY OF POLDA BALI
Brief History of Polda Nusra :
The growth and development of Polda Nusra was strongly influenced by the condition and situation of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia.
1. The August 17, 1947 to 1950 Period.
On August 17, 1945, local police chiefs including those in the Nusa Tenggara region separated from control of the Japanese administration and self-declared as part of the Police of the Republic of Indonesia.
On December 24, 1946, Ordenantie No. 143 year 1946 from the East Indonesia chiefs was implemented, regarding the “structure and form of governance” that was based on the Swapraja regulation year 1938, which the local Police organizations in the regions complied to.

Police in the Governmental sphere East Indonesia, is administratively under the East Indonesian Ministry of Internal Affairs aided by a Head of the East Indonesia Police Bureau.
The Nusa Tenggara region at the time was divided into 2 police regions namely:
a. The Bali and Lombok Residential Police located in Denpasar which oversees the police in each Swapraja on Bali and Lombok.
b. The East and the islands Residential Police located in Kupang which oversees the police in each Swapraja in the region.
Then the police organizations located in the Nusa Tenggara region changed into 5 (five) areas each headed by a Head of Regional Police or Kepala Kepolisian Daerah (KPDA). The five areas are:
a. Bali Regional Police or Kepolisian Daerah Bali located in Denpasar.
b. Lombok Regional Police or Kepolisian Daerah Lombok located in Ampenan.
c. Sumbawa/Sumba Regional Police or Kepolisian Daerah Sumbawa/Sumba located in Bima.
d. Flores Regional Police or Kepolisian Daerah Flores located in Ende.
e. Timor Regional Police or Kepolisian Daerah Timor located in Kupang.
On August 17, 1950 the Republic of Indonesia was born, followed by the birth of the State Police Bureau on August 19, 1950, where each of the heads of the regional police had direct contact with the State Police in Jakarta.
