Bali is renowned for its picturesque beaches, paddy fields, and strong waterfalls. The true beauty of this island is concealed in its mountains.

In the north of Bali, distant from the congested streets of Seminyak and Canggu, is a tranquil, cooler, green area called Munduk. Even though visiting for a day trip is frequent, spending a few nights in Munduk, Bali, allows you to see everything the city has to offer.

Banyumala

1. Take a dip in Munduk's waterfalls.

North Bali is the king of waterfalls, boasting at least ten breathtaking waterfalls that may be visited. A 30-minute journey separates the Munduk Waterfall, the Banyumala Twin Waterfall, and a few more less well-known waterfalls. You might even take a half-day journey to the magnificent Sekumpul Waterfall to go even further.

Ulun Danu Bratan

2. Bali’s famous water temple

Ulun Danu Bratan, a temple constructed in Tamblingan Lake and probably Bali's most beautiful temple, is one of Bali's well-known Munduk water temples. Due to the region's wet environment, the water level around the temple fluctuates, giving it its distinctive appearance.

Munduk Swing Viewpoints

3. Try the Munduk Swing Viewpoints out.

The Twin Lake, a pair of interconnected lakes, may be seen very impressively from a mountain range that marks the beginning of the Munduk region. Numerous locations, including bridges, swings, and cafes, charge a nominal price for their panoramic view. Wanagiri Swing is the name of the swing shown in the pictures.

Handara Gate

4. Snap a picture at Bali's Handara Gate

There is a gate that looks impressive as you travel along the main road to Munduk. Unbelievably, this Bali gate serves as the gateway of a golf field. Although timing this stop can help you save a lot of time, it is worth it to get a photo with the gate and the stunning mountain backdrop.

Munduk Moding Plantation

5. Munduk's top infinity pool

A hotel called Munduk Moding Plantation is located in the middle of a thriving coffee plantation and offers guests a panoramic vista from its infinity pool over Bali's undulating hills. In addition to this magnificent view, staying at the accommodation hidden in the herb, vegetable, and fruit garden is a wonderful experience.

Mount Batur

6. See Mount Batur's sunrise

Are you up for some exploration? Get up early to climb 1700 meters and observe the dawn from the erupting Batur Volcano. If you are physically healthy, it will take you about two hours to trek to the volcano's summit. To plan this trip, contact our friend Yande via the form below.

7. Examine Bali coffee.

The mountainous region of Bali has a temperate climate and rich volcanic soil, which are ideal for cultivating a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. Bali coffee is renowned for its flavorful aroma and creamy taste. Much of the land in Munduk is covered with plantations.

Where to Stay in Munduk

Munduk has a wide range of hotels and guesthouses for every type of budget. If you want to experience everything Munduk has to offer, make arrangements to stay here for one or two nights.

How to travel to Bali's Munduk

Despite being in the north of Bali, Munduk is accessible by vehicle or motorcycle. It takes roughly 1-2 hours to drive up into the mountains from either Ubud Bali or Canggu.
