Since Ubud is Bali's cultural hub, it is not surprising that the majority of the island's top temples are located here. Some of these structures date back less than a century, while others are older than a thousand years. If you're interested in learning about various cultures and historical periods, not to mention bringing home some distinctive souvenir images, these are definitely worth a visit!

list of the best temples in Ubud :

1. Saraswati Temple

The Saraswati water temple, located in the heart of Ubud, features some of Bali's coolest wall carvings and designs. The doors are incredibly intricate and detailed. Dragons, flowers, devil statues, and more

2. Pura Dalem Temple

This temple, which is also located in the heart of Ubud, is renowned for having some of the strangest and most elaborate figures of any Bali temple. Here, lions, savage demon goddesses, and other beasts look back at you.

3. Sacred Monkey Forest in Ubud

The Instagram-famous Ubud Monkey Forest is most well-known for the wild monkeys that call it home, but it also has some intriguing old temples and jungle-hidden dragon statues. The environment as a whole has an Indiana Jones vibe. Pura Dalem Agung Padangtegal, the primary temple in the monkey forest, is believed to have been constructed about the year 1350.

4. Puri Saren Agung

This temple, which was constructed in the 1800s and is also known as the Ubud Royal Palace, is without a doubt the most well-known in Ubud, in part because it is situated right in the middle of the town. One of Bali's most accessible temples is this one.

5. Goa Gajah Temple

One of the strangest and oldest temples I've ever seen in Ubud is this one. You get the distinct and peculiar feeling that you are entering the belly of some underground rock monster when you step through the cave's entryway.

6. Samuan Tiga Temple

About 800 yards from the Goa Gajah temple or a 10-minute drive from the heart of Ubud is this substantial temple from the 10th century, which is located between Ubud and Gianyar. Although this temple is exceptionally silent and seems to be unknown to most travelers, Hindu events frequently take place there.

What To Wear To Bali's Temples

Most of these Bali temples require you to enter them while wearing a sarong.

A sarong, a traditional skirt that you tie around your waist, is typically available for short-term rental on the spot for a charge of about 5,000 Rupiah (less than a Dollar). Or, if you want to spend a lot of time around Bali's temples, you might want to invest in a sarong that you can keep. These are really affordable!
